This 1,600 car capacity drive-in was the largest in Massachusetts. It opened as the West Boyleston Drive-In on May 10, 1951 with Gary Cooper in “You’re in the Navy Now” & Rhys Williams in “Tyrant of the Sea”. It could have later been twinned. It was owned by E.M. Loew Circuit.

Elias M. Loew 1898-1984,at one time he owned 70 hardtop theatres and 17 drive-ins also a chain of hotels and motels,and a racetrack.He was not related to Marcus Loew.He based his theatres out of Boston,Mass.

Yes,I remember one time you explained they were not related,but that Loews Name had to have helped Elias.

Opened on May 10th, 1951, as the West Boylston Drive-In. Grand opening ad posted.
